Byron A. Love, MBA, PgMP, PMP, CISSP

Byron Love is a Cybersecurity Program Director supporting U.S. federal agencies with more than 35 years of experience in information technology and cybersecurity. He is a published author, a frequent presenter, and an experienced nonprofit board leader.  A retired U.S. Air Force Major, he served 21 years on Active Duty and in the Reserves, rising through both the enlisted and officer ranks as a Communications and Information Officer.

Byron has led multimillion-dollar programs of national importance. He directed a $346 million cybersecurity program for the Department of Homeland Security, providing executive leadership to more than 220 cyber analysts, technologists, and support personnel in advancing DHS’s mission to secure the Nation’s critical infrastructure. Earlier, he managed a four-year, $30 million Air Force program that modernized every Air Force dental clinic worldwide by converting from film-based to digital dental processing—an initiative that continues to impact every Airman and their families. He also served as Senior Program Manager for the U.S. Department of State’s Vanguard 2.1 contract, a 300-person, $26 million-per-year program that managed the Department’s global IT Service Center and supported 29,000 desktops across the continental U.S.

Byron holds a Master of Business Administration from Averett University, a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Thomas Edison State University, and two Associate degrees. He is among the very few professionals worldwide to hold both the Program Management Professional (PgMP) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certifications, and is also credentialed as a Project Management Professional (PMP), ITIL Foundation, and CompTIA Project+ professional. He completed the University of Pennsylvania’s AI for Business specialization and earned the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Strategic AI Certificate, where he also served on the program’s Board of Advisors.
